Miscellaneous Steel Detailing
We detail the secondary steel and metals that tie a structure together — stairs, handrails, guardrails, ladders, platforms, canopies and equipment supports — coordinated with the primary structural package for fabricators and contractors across the United States.
Secondary Steel, Fully Coordinated
Stairs, platforms, ladders and equipment supports rarely stand alone — they land on, hang from or bolt into the primary structural steel. We detail miscellaneous steel in coordination with that package so connections, clearances and erection sequencing all line up correctly the first time.

Stringers, treads, landings and connections detailed for shop fabrication and field erection, coordinated with the primary structure and applicable code requirements.
Guardrail posts, top rails, mid rails and toe plates detailed to project-specific fall-protection and code requirements.
Fixed ladders, cages and landing platforms detailed for roof, equipment and maintenance access.
Elevated access and maintenance platforms detailed with decking, framing and connections back to the supporting steel.
Entrance, loading dock and equipment canopies detailed for connection to the primary structure.
Support steel for mechanical, process and rooftop equipment, coordinated with equipment vendor drawings where provided.
Infill framing, screen wall supports and other secondary steel that falls outside the primary structural package.
Embed plates, anchors and sleeves detailed for placement before concrete pour, coordinated with the foundation contractor.
Detailing support for architectural metal elements, where applicable to the project scope.
Miscellaneous steel is modeled and released in coordination with the primary structural package to avoid conflicts and duplicate work.
How the Pieces Fit Together
Even a single stair-and-platform package carries several distinct pieces that need to be detailed, fabricated and erected in the right order — from the guardrail down to the base plate anchoring it to structure.
